Ordering FAQs
Ordering Guide: To start the order process, please begin by filling out our "Contact Us" form; you can expect our reply via email. (Be sure to check your spam or trash folders, just in case our messages decide to take a detour there!)
If we have the capacity to fulfill your order, we will prepare a customized quote based on the information you provide which we will request your approval on. Once you’re ready to move forward, we'll send you an invoice for easy online payment. When payment is received by the order date, you'll be added to our baking schedule! Your order will be ready at the agreed upon date and you can swing by for an in-person pickup; just remember, we can only accommodate one customer inside our cozy bakery at a time.
Turnaround Time: While we typically book out a week or two in advance, please feel free to send us your cake requests, even on short notice. We will promptly respond with our availability and do our best to accommodate your needs.
Cancellations: After payment has been received, we have a no-refund policy for canceled or downsized orders to maintain our commitment to quality and service. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Changes to your existing order (design, size, or flavor) can be made up until 7 days before your scheduled pickup time.
Payment in full is due at the time you place your order; payments must be made through an online invoice we will email you or in person at our bakery location. Exceptions are orders under Contract (weddings, special events.)
Need a last-minute cakes or dessert?! Stop in to pick up a 6” case cake! We have these available on a first come first serve basis and are always happy to customize it with a message.

Your Wedding Cake and Consultation
To make the most of our limited space, we conduct our consultations via email or video chat. To get started, please complete our "Contact Us" form and share all the details you can about your desired wedding cake. If you already have a specific design or image in mind, we'll provide a direct email for you to send it. If you'd like assistance in crafting a design, just let us know if you prefer a consultation via email or video chat, and we’ll either offer meeting times or create a sketch or range of photos for you to choose from. Your cake journey is unique, and we're here to make it special.
Cake Tastings
We offer a sample tray of 8 of our most popular cake/filling/icing flavors that can be picked up at our bakery! This tray costs $10 and serves 2 people nicely. These can be requested through our Contact Us form!
Wedding Cake Information
Cake Flavors: White, Chocolate, Marble, Yellow, Spice, German Chocolate, Carrot, Red Velvet, Lemon, Pink Champagne
Filling Flavors: New York Style Cheese Cake, Strawberry Mousse, Raspberry Mousse, Amaretto Mousse, Chocolate Mousse, Lemon Mousse, Raspberry, Strawberry, Bavarian Creme (Chocolate or Vanilla), Classic German Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, and Bailey’s Mousse.
Icing choices: Buttercream, Chocolate Buttercream, Whipped Topping, Cream Cheese, Chocolate Ganache (pour over drip icing)
Pricing: starting at $5.45 per serving of tiered cake, $2.50 per serving of filled sheet cake.
How do we freeze our top tier?
We will leave a box for your top tier at the reception, usually under the cake table. Your caterer can pack your cake in this box for you to take home. Once you get it home, freeze it for about 1 hour, then un-box the cake, wrap it in several layers of plastic wrap, followed by a layer of foil. Put the wrapped cake into a plastic ice cream pail, or a Tupperware, and put it in the bottom of your freezer. To thaw, unwrap and thaw in your refrigerator. Serve with a glass of bubbly!
When will you deliver our cake?
We will set up a “window of time” that works best for you and your venue. This window is approximately a two-hour time span. Please advise your caterer/venue to have your cake table ready with a linen on it prior to our arrival. For example, if your reception starts at 5pm, we would likely deliver the cake sometime between the hours of 2:30-4:30.
We have a cake topper. Do we bring it to you?
No, please leave your topper ON the cake table. It must be on the table when we arrive, or we will not be able to place it. If you have a topper, let us know in advance. We like to know ahead of time if a topper is particularly heavy, or tippy, so that we can make any necessary preparations for its placement. Upon delivery, if we feel that your topper is unstable, and may fall, we will not place it on the cake, but will display it next to the cake.
My aunt is cutting our cake for us. Any advice?
Yes! We can provide a cutting guide. It’s a diagram on how to cut the cake into the correct number of servings. If you think your caterer should have one, let us know! We can bring a copy when we deliver. We can also email one to your aunt in advance of the wedding, as moral support!
When is our balance due?
All details, including your balance, any changes to style, serving count, flavor, set up, must be taken care of 15 days before your wedding. We’ll send you a reminder email before the 15 day point.
Can you charge my balance to my credit card?
Yes, we will send you an invoice you can pay online!

3D cakes, Cakes with 3 or more tiers, and orders over $125 may require a signed customer waiver, granting us creative license and a written commitment to purchase the cake we create for you.
Cup-Cake Stands, Cake Stands and rented plastic accessories MUST be returned the Wednesday after your event, customer agrees to pay full replacement cost if these accessories are not returned on time.
Tiered Cake serving sizes are based on industry standard (4” Tall, 2” Deep and 1” Thick).
Cancellation Policy (Wedding Cakes):
A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve your wedding date. You may cancel your wedding day reservation up until 15 days prior to your wedding and receive a full refund less the $50 deposit.
Changes to order (Wedding Cakes):
Changes may be made to wedding cake flavors, servings counts, and design until 15 days before your wedding date. At that time, everything must be finalized, no changes to serving count, flavors or design after the 15 day point.
Guarantees:
1. We GUARANTEE that your cake/cupcakes will be decorated to EVERY specification on your written order form. When you receive an invoice from us, there will be a PDF attachment of your order. It is your responsibility to read through this order to ensure every detail is correct. Upon pick-up of your cake, adjustments can be made for an additional charge.
2. We will ALWAYS take you through our 3 point check, when you pick up your cake. This means that we will ask you if everything is spelled correctly. We will go through your entire order with you, with a copy of your paper order in hand. We will ask if there is anything that we can do to make the cake more special for you.
Refund Policy:
If upon picking up your cake, you are not 100% satisfied with the look of your cake, you are NOT obligated to take the cake. If you choose not to take the cake, you will be issued a full refund via original purchase method. Upon pick-up of your cake, adjustments to the cake decoration can be made for an additional charge. Once the cake leaves our shop, you may bring the cake back in for design adjustments, however there will be a charge for this service. We are not responsible for any damage occurring to the cake during transport, set-up or any time thereafter.
After the cake leaves the shop, special consideration will be given to any issues regarding cake flavors and fillings. Refunds will be determined based upon portion of cake returned to the shop.
Artistic License Disclaimer:
Every cake we make is hand-made. Decorative finishes are done by hand and are subject to the artistic interpretation of our expert cake decorators. You may provide us with a photograph for inspiration and duplication; however, we make no claims for exact duplication of any type of hand made work.
Privacy Policy:
Queen of Cakes will never disclose your personal information (name, email address, phone number) without your express permission. We do not record or save your credit card number or credit card security information.
